Good Morning All!
My daughter and I grew this one from a tadpole we bought from our LFS who couldn't tell us what kind of tadpole it was. He used to be greenish but has now gone monotone in color. He eats mealworms, nightcrawlers, fish (from the tank side of my paludarium), crickets, and even waxworms.
The album link is here:

Any help in identifying him as a bullfrog would be awesome. I tried to get a pick of the top of him as they say if he has a fold down the middle, he's an American Bullfrog. He definitely doesn't have a visbile big bone my Southern Leopard Frog has so I'm guessing he is one.
Regards,
Jonathan
Definitely not an African Bullfrog, beyond that, I have no idea, sorry.
1.0 Giant African Bullfrog: Strax
Either bullfrog, or river frog, how large was the tadpole?
It was the biggest tadpole I've ever seen. Probably three to four inches in length? I have baby pictures of two of them (one didn't make it). I'll add to the album as well, not sure if early adolescent markings will help.
I just uploaded some adolescent pictures of him when he was actually green in the same album as linked in my original post. Not sure why he's so dark now. Saying he out of habit, no clue what sex it is. Neat frog, its croak is very guteral low and loud when he/she decides to croak. Sometimes I'll see him in the water side of the tank for weeks on end, other times, he'll bury under the leaf litter and chill out eating everything that crosses his path.
Looked at the pictures, it is an American Bullfrog, you will know have to get a bigger tank, bullfrogs are large, powerful, skittish frogs, and will need all the leaping space that they can get. I would recommend a 150 gallon tank, so it can have land and water, I think you are beginning to see why a lot of people don't keep this species
Thanks for the ID! I am indeed in preparation of procuring a 200 gallon tank. I am first going to be building a custom stand like I did the 55 tall the bullfrog currently resides in. Once my stand is done, then begins the fun of building a new paludarium for him!
Be sure to post about the construction of the stand and the paludarium on here
