Hello everyone,
I don't post too much anymore because I am overwhelmingly busy at work, but I thought I would update on my little green guys and say I'm still hereHere are recent pictures of all my frogs and what they are up to:
Dumper & Jade
Dumper is still fat and still growing, but not as fast or as much as Jade... he/she (still unsure) is approaching 4"... is he/she a croaking female??
Dumper is still happy-go-lucky, he loves to sit on my hand and look around at everything and Jade has accepted his/her fate as a captive pet frog (no longer tries to escape). Jade's scars are still healing from his/her escape attempts over the summer.
Scooter
Scooter is growing up fast. He was about 3/4" when I got him and now he's about 2 1/4" long. He's still a baby though and falls asleep after a couple minutes sitting in my hand. He's very active and bites my hand when he's hungry... he's the biggest eater out of the bunch, but I'll have to limit his food so he doesn't get fat like the older white's.
I was wondering how big he had to be before introducing him to Dumper (3") and Jade 3.75")? I don't want him to get eaten.
Geico and Cisco
Geico has become a large, fat American Green Treefrog! I need to put him on a diet, but I have reduced feedings to all of them by half. I think he is competing with Kurt's green treefrog! He is tamed down quite a bit and I can pick him up with him freaking out... maybe because he's too fat to jump away.
Cisco, my other green tree frog is extremely active and still noisy at night, though it's getting colder so he's slowing down a bit. Cicso has become very tame and will sit on my hand and fall asleep like Dumper and Scooter does.
Very nice. Sometimes I think my green treefrog is sick and bloated, but then I come to my senses and realize he/she is just a fatty-fatty.
Kurt, do green tree frogs hibernate? my fatty is very lazy now and really doesn't eat as much as Cisco (the skinny hyper one). Do they have to hibernate? I saw this post about a grey tree frog and was curious about the green ones.
The video was lovely, very peaceful. Thanks for sharing.
