Welcome aboard. Algae grows in my dart tanks.
Hello. I am a teen in the US, and originally became interested in frogs after I learned that dart frogs were not poisonous. I was busy with my aquariums at the time, but have quit aquariums keeping due to the excessive amounts of algae that grow, regardless of scrubbing and filtration, not to mention the fact that corals grow veeeeery slowly.
So, dart frogs became the answer. Small, corlorful, and easy to keep. I have planned out a terrarium and want to keep D. leucomelas. My budget is largeish (for me), because I can sell all my aquarium supplies for around $300-400.
Unfortunately, my mother does not like keeping frogs, so a planted vivarium will be all I can do for now. I can still tell people there are frogs in there, and chances are they will believe me.
So, hello frog forum!
Welcome aboard. Algae grows in my dart tanks.
Yeah I just wipe it off the glass.
I have found that the magnetic Algae cleaners for aquariums are great for removing the algae from the glass of my Dart tank. It seems a little less intrusive then sticking my whole arm in the tank. And for some reason my dart's are attracted to it and come out to watch the magnet that mysteriously slides across the glass.
