    mine normally sleeps all day and around 6 pm he will surface for feeding then the next morning he goes back under to go back to sleep, once Bubba stayed under for 3 days! then poped up and ate a huge meal lol

    This is normal behavior. A month is way to long for babies though or even juviniles. You don't have to completely unbury him. All you have to do is unbury his head so that he can see the food you are offering and he will resurface the rest of the way on his own if he is hungry.
