    Question Setup question..

I have seen a couple of different opinions on this matter. Do Pacmans need a dry area in their terrariums? When I purchased my guys I was told to soak the spagnum and keep it wet. Since then I've read they need a dry area. What do y'all think?

I think that they need it damp everywhere... not soaking, but like a damp dirt.. and a water bowl to soak in when they want

They will not utilize a dry area. It would be good if one side were less moist than the other, but never dry. Someone who actually owns a pacman, please feel free to confirm or deny that statement :P

Thanks for the input. I have them setup without a dry area now and they seem to be doing really well. I'll keep going like i have it.

Absolutely no dry area and your substrate should not have any moss what so ever. Moss can cause an impaction(severe constipation) if ingested by your frog and he/she could die. You need to use Eco Earth Coconut Fiber substrate(not coconut husk). Or use Plantation Soil. The substrate should be moist or heavily damp not muddy. They need a warm side and a cool side. Water dish on the cool side and UTH(Under Tank Heater on the warm side, but placed on the side of the tank not on the bottom.

Thanks for the heads up. I went and got some plantation soil, I'm about to change all of the tanks out now. Is it safe to go ahead and feed them on this substrate? I had been feeding them in another tank thats empty.

The moss is not safe. Coconut fiber will pass through their digestive tract without harming them. Feeding in a seperate enclosure that has either damp paper towels for substrate of empty is fine until you get the dirt changed out.

Yes, once you've changed to Eco earth coco fiber or plantation soil it is fine to feed them on it.

Do you have any pictures of your pacs? What size are they?
