I have 4 ACFs in a 55 gallon. I have an Aquatop af300 canister, a large HOB and two air powered sponge filters. My frogs seem to like the flow from them, they are often bu the output of the filters or on the sponges. I keep my water 1.5 to 2" from the top so I zip tied a bunch of bio balls to the outputs of the HOB. It calms the waterfall effect and may add some bio filtration similar to a wet/dry.
Depending on the tank size a canister is probably your best bet. I like some redundancy so I would suggest two different filters.

I use an Aquaclear hob filter on my frog tank.
