    Default Theloderma gordoni

    Hi all!

I got a new frog recently and I thought I'd share a few pictures with you. I was actually looking for T. asperum because I never thought it would be possilble to find a gordoni in Sweden. But when I heard it was possible to get one I didn't hesitate since these guys has always been my favourite. The red/orange is so pretty!

He's very shy so I don't want to bother him to much. I'm gonna take more when he has setteled in more.

I named him Mr. Smaug since my girlfriend thinks he looks like a little dragon

    Enjoy!

    One of my personal favorites
Did you already hear him call?
It's a gorgeous sound, always made me think of the submarine beeps
Hopefully i'm going to find myself a girl someday, can't wait to breed them.
Congrats on you're new frog, i'm sure you will enjoy him.

From Wesley's comment, I figure they sound like corticale? If so, they have an awesome call Submarine beep is exactly how I describe it to my friends.

Are you going to breed them if you can get a pair?

It's slightly different to corticale but the same idea indeed.
Corticale tend to make a bleep bleep sound, gordoni does this more canary like in a way,
    difficult to explain tho.
If you PM me you're email adress i'll send you a sample of their voice so you can compare.
Not sure if the sound is anywhere online, i never found it so can't share a link that way.

Wow, that's incredible and actually nothing like the corticales (at least not mine). Raya, you need to breed these badasses and provide me some.

Thanks a lot posting the calls!

Yeah, it's different, but it has the same submarine thingy to it.
That;s what i think at least
It;s no state of the art soundclip i made as well, in real it sounded a little different, more the echo like thing to it, in this clip it sounds a little more flat.

Thanks for the replies guys! He sure is a beauty.

Yeah, he sings every night. Submarine beeps is a very accurate description actually! But I find it pretty soothing actually
From your post Wesley I understand that you got some T. gordonis too? Are yours shy too and do they climb alot? This guy hasn't climbed anything yet, he keeps in and around the water all the time

If I could get my hands on a female I would love to try to breed them. But I don't think the breeders sell females considering the males-to-females ratio of the Thelodermas. I might get lycky if I try getting some unsexed juveniles... But if I do, I'll trade some for some corticale babies!

    I used to.
Got 6 of them, turned out to be all males so i sold them since i couldn't find a female to go with them.
I still regret the decision to this day.
Hopefully a friend of mine will be able to deliver me some gordonii again,
would love to breed them some time.
