Do they really change their color as they mature? I have the feeling that my cranwelli is undergoing that process.
They sure do. They may go through several different shades before becoming their final color. You can also alter their color slightly with vitamins. If you have Reptivite multivitamin you can alter their yellows and oranges as well as their bright greens because it contains betacarotine.

Thanks for the info. I am actually using Reptivite multivitamins twice a week to all my frogs but does it also influence the color changes of my female pixie turning into gray?

You need to cut back to once a week. You should only dust with a multivitamin once a week and with a calcium supplement every other feeding. This can cause and overload of vitamins in their system causing them to get Toxing out Syndrome.

Apologies for asking to much but how do I recognize this syndrome? what are the clinical manifestation involving this type of diagnosis.

Usually they will become sick and stop eating. Bloating is also associated with this illness as well as lathargy and listlessness. I would skip dusting for a week to allow some of the vitamins to leave their systems and then restart. Overload of vitamins can also cause kidney and liver failure so be careful. Do not dust with the multivitamin and calcium dust at the same time in the same feeding either. They lose a lot of the benifits from the supplements if used together in the same feeding.
