I have a Common American Green Tree frog and a Cope's Gray Tree Frog I have had them probably sense May 2011. I feed them once a week 20 crickets every other week they get dusted crickets. Is there any other food I can feed them besides earth worms or leaf worms or red worms that I can buy at a store. Are worms even good to feed them and how would I get them to eat them before the worms dig there way into the dirt sense they don't eat from human hands.
Earthworms, wax worms, mealworms (not often), superworms, dubia roaches, turkistan roaches, hornworms, silkworms... Worms are good to feed your frog. If your frogs don't eat from tongs then you can get a tall-ish glass bowl and put the insect of choice in the bowl and they will eat them eventually.
I notice you stated you wished to buy at a store. And I apologize for diverting to the purchase of feeder insects on-line. I don't know if Turkish Roaches are sold at any chain Pet Store, but do ask around and check with local reptile breeders because the Turkish Roaches will get you more for your money than crickets. I feed my Copes the Turkish Roaches. I felt I was throwing away money with crickets. My Copes do not seem to be excited by the slow behavior and difficult shape of the Dubia Roaches so I switched to the Turkish - and Wow!!! The Savings. The 1000 I bought have lasted months and I have 7 Copes. These Turks continue to breed and they don't eat their young. The Turkish excite the Copes considerably with their quick running and sudden "tripping." That is, they just seem to go so fast they trip over their own feet and onto their backs, their legs moving in the air which greatly excites the frogs. They reproduce easily, especially when given oranges. They come out at night and do not permanently bury down like the Dubias, making evening frog and owner entertainment a shared experience. I buy my Turkish Roaches from GulfCoastCrickets (there are other companies) and can honestly say, I don't think I've EVER found one dead on delivery; indeed, I've never seen one dead in my container...and that's out of a thousand!
