Lightbulb water bowl/dish necessary for tree frogs?

I was told a little while back that water bowls/dishes are not necessary for tree frogs because they ubsourbe(wrong spelling)the moisture from the damp air.but now iam wondering if i should put the water bowl back in my terrariums because every single care-sheet for red eyes and gtf say to have a water bowl.

so should i or is it not necessary?

    thanks guys

The answer is yes. They need this dish to soak in if they feel the need to. Make sure you are using dechlorinated water. I personally use spring water for their dishes.

It's a good thing to have, but not always neccesary if an optimal enclosure is used (and depending on the species). For example, Understory Enterprise does not use waterbowls for their agalychnis-species (according yo their website), and they have breed them (all but spurelli) for some time with great success.
However, it's just an easy thing to do, and it'll help a lot in case they would need it. Just keep it clean!

Just make sure the water is clean if a water bowl is used. A foul water source is potentionally much more dangerous than without a water source.

That's weird. I've seen my red eye soak in his dish a few times, and my new white's I just recently got was soaking in his last night. I keep them in there incase they need it. Like you stated above, better safe than sorry

(@S13, I have that "jacuzzi" in every frog tank I own (4). I love it bc of the built-in stairs. It makes it easy for my terrestrial frogs to get out of.)

mine always use their bowl, it helps soak thier skin when theyre getting ready to shed. i often find skin floating in the water when i get up in the morning. it also gets all the dirt off them (even if it is fora matter of minutes lol)

Mine lives in his water bowl and the water fall I have for him. They drink from there skin so its like a glass of water for them to have around

Cute! So you use one of those in the terrium, no issues occur? Id think cause of the water/humidity that there might be some problems? No? I would like to get one if its safe. How long have you been using those?

Default water bowl/dish necessary for tree frogs?

Definitely need a water dish! My two love to soak and completely spread out. I had to get a pretty big dish because with the two of them in a normal sized one, they could hardly fit lol
