New around here. First time Pacy mommy wants to say thank you

I thought I would make an account if for nothing else but to thank the wonderful people here for the information I received a few days ago.

I bought my first pacman about 6 days ago from the petsmart where I work. 3 days ago I noticed he had this big bubble over one eye. I did a google search and found a thread from this forum with pictures that looked exactly like what was wrong with my baby. Thankfully people around here are great and had already replied with exactly what to do. So I took him out of his regular tank and stuck him in quarantine for that night then took him back to work yesterday morning. Now despite some of the negative comments I've seen about petsmart around here, the store where I work employs only people who know what there doing when it comes to the animals in there care and the manager in charge of small animals (who has pacy's of her own) said I'd done everything right and it was good I'd brought him in so they could take care of him.

As of this afternoon he's looking 100% better. He bumped his eye yesterday and poped the bubble and after that he started getting better and better (even without meds). The girls say hes eating and its probable I will get to bring him home tomorrow night after work.


I'm so glad I found this place else I dont think I would have known what to do. I might have left him in his regular tank and he might have gotten worse over night. So I'd like to think it was the info I got from here that lead to the speedy recovery of my little guy/girl (he's smaller then a quarter @.@).


I've also already gotten some great advice about how to set up his new tank when he gets bigger (such as moving the UTH to the side and putting tin foil over part of the top to keep in humidity). I hope that I'll continue to get some great little tips and I love to see everyone's Pacy's. I dont care what anyone else says, they are so cute! Even if they aren't nearly as active as my tree frogs are. >w<
