What is the best way to feed a white's dumpy tree frog? I've been feeding mine with tweezers but I'm afraid she will end up getting hurt. The food is small and I flinch when she goes after the food, once I even dropped the tweezers. I don't want her to get a mouth wound. Any ideas?
If you are feeding her crickets, what I would recommend doing is putting her in a separate container, and placing several crickets in with her so she can catch them on her own. When I feed my frogs, I just let them run loose in the enclosure so the frogs will catch them, and this hasn't been a problem. You can use either method as desired. Also, if you're feeding her worms, you can place a shallow dish in the enclosure and place the worms in it (once again, so she can catch them on her own). Hope this helps!

If you do need to use tweezers for some reason (though its obviously better to try to get your frogs catching food on their own) you can get plastic feeder tweezers which would be a bit softer on your frog's mouth. Not sure if there are any rubber tipped ones either but that might be worth a look if you are going to need to use the tweezers and are worried.
My white's loves to catch his own food, but because his enclosure is so full of plants, it's hard for me to know if he's getting enough or if he's eating right away after the crickets are dusted. The glass bowl feeding method works great (just search the forum for tips). Get a small glass bowl (about 2" deep and wide) to put the crickets in, they don't usually jump out. This has proven to be a great way for me to monitor the amount of food my white's consumes.
When I feed worms, I just dangle the worm in front of his face with my fingers, and he gobbles them up! I have not had good luck with placing the worms in a dish, my frog doesn't eat the worms from the dish and they usually find a way out into his substrate.
I never use tongs if I hand feed, I find it easier to just use my fingers!

I use the glass bowl method. Helps keep crickets from running loose and dying / drowning / decaying..occasionally one may piggyback on another and escape though.. Also, the glass bowl method helps me keep track of how much my WTF is (or is not) eating. My WTF doesn't like to be handled AT ALL!! and has made a few wild leaps in order to avoid me - therefore I have not employed the "feeding in a separate container" method, although I do see the upside (less chance of swallowing a non-digestible substance / ability to feed multiple animals w/o competition) as long as your animal will tolerate regular handling...
Admittedly, I'm pretty new when is comes to this stuff, but I would avoid tweezer-feeding of any kind. WTF's are clumsy eaters and will not be able to distinguish between tweezer and cricket. To me it seems like force feeding.. stressful for any critter...
