hey guys im new to the forum ill tell you about my setup and then whats going on i reeeeally need some advice on what to do
so i have a 60gallon hex front long aquarium a mix of sand and gravel and also some aquafloral as my substrate 2 large pieces of bog wood a few rocks ( the kind from pet smart) 2 air stones a marine land bio wheel filter 2 air stones some african sword plants ( the lfs sold hem to me as java moss but i know better ) and a marimo ball as far as other tank mates i have 2 gold gouramis 2 silver dollars ( soon to be in another tank) a bristle nose pleco and a brow knife fish and of course carl my afc! the water parameters and are amonia 0ppm ph 6.7 nitrites 0ppm nirates around 30 ppm temp is between 78 and 80f
so heres the problem i hand feed carl the afc because his tank mates steal his blood worms or brine shrimp i mix up the diet in the tank and the past 2 days carl hasnt been eating as much i have also noiced he is losing some of his color ( he is a dyed albino ) i dont mind it so much but i wanted to kno if that is normal he has lost the color in his legs mostly he also today hid under the morimo ball ( not normal) and when i went to go look for him he ket swiming on top of the water and letting me hold him in my hand ..
there are no signs of bloating or and abnormal redness no weird spots or anything he is just acting strange im thinking he might be shedding and there for is freaking out we have had him in this setup since xmas i do normal 25% water changes the other night i had to add alittle water to the tank because the filter was making some noise i always use stress zyme + to de-chlorinate the water along with a little discus buffer to keep the ph low .... so yes whats up with my frog please any help would be awesome !
Hard telling what's wrong, But I'd start with a couple of water changes this week. 30ppm is high considering you do water changes and youhave live plants. I also think the temp is higher than it need to be. Try to keep him in the 70-75 degree range. I'd also quit feeding the blood worms. You need to get him something that is nutritionally balanced. A pelleted food like Retpilemin is the way to go for a basic diet. Since you have no discus it might not be a bad idea to get rid of that buffer also. The biggest problem with those products is water stability. Just use your tap water-declorinated. That way it is always the same ph. The buffer product is probably the culprit causing the high nitrates also.
As far as looseing his color, that is a good thing and it is normal. Do some searching around this board. There are a couple of threads about the dyed frogs.
I agree with Tony. The nitrate level is a bit high, acceptable standards are <50. Water temperature is also high, good for tropicalis but not good for laevis. Ideal temperature is between 69(F) and 71(F). For reference, >86(F) is lethal. Do not feed your frogs food that is freeze-dried, it seems to gum up the digestive tract and causes problems. Other than that, everything else seems OK. Dyed frogs may have additional problems brought on by the chemicals injected in their body which may not be treatable.

Thanks for the help guys didnt realize the temp could be such a big problem i have kept him in moderately warm water since i got him an he seemed to be happy up until a few days ago im kind of happy the color is going away. i use 1/4th the amount of recommended discus buffer in the tap water i use just to keep the ph lower we have really bad water around here where i live. maybe the blood worms are whats causing this ? also the place i got him they gave me some pellets to feed him but he never seemed to eat them at all although i have noticed him scooping up the fish flakes on occasions
