    Default Hello :)

    Hey There,

I have to admit I'm completely new to the world of frogs. I have 2 chinese fire bellied newts (Karl and Kravitz) and two goldfish (Squishy and Speedy) but would really like to get into the frog scene. As a newbie what sort of frog would be recommended?

    Thanks a Bundle

    Emma

Welcome to the forum, Emma. The kind of frog for you is really a personal choice, though tree frogs seem popular. Right now in the UK I know there are captive bred European Green Tree Frogs, American Gray Tree Frogs, and Australian White's Tree Frogs available. Some ideas.

There's loads to choose from. Have a look at www.dartfrog.co.uk and www.pollywog.co.uk for an idea of what's available in Britain.

Welcome aboard. Fire-bellied toads are another good choice for beginners.

I hear they're poisonous though and should definitely never be mixed with your other frogs. (I know people who have lost their frogs this way) So if you take that route be sure to keep them in their own cage.

Now that I'm done giving out obvious information welcome to the forum!!

Fire-bellies are toxic. That being said, I wouldn't mix frog species, period, regardless of the species involved.

    Thanks guys,

I have spoken to my boyfriend at length about this and we have decided to go with an australian whites tree frog. So I'm gonna do lots of research and such and hopefully I'll have some pics for you at some point.

Thank you so much for all your help.
