id like to know this too because I'm getting a light fixture from a guy on craigslist and he says that it comes with a F15T8 bulb. I'm assuming this is a T8?

I use one of those GE Daylight CFL bulbs for my red eye's viv, mostly for a day/night cycle and plant growth and it has been doing just fine.

I use 2- 48" T12/plant florescents (because of the fixture already installed onto the basement ceiling) and the screw base /plant type ( like Omar) -- for day/night and plant growth. My enclosures are centered directly under the 48". I'm sure the T8 do save $, so 'they' say.
