I feed my frogs bloodworms as a basic diet
And I also feed them cockroaches (Blaptica dubia) and earthworms caught in the soil of my chicken coop.
I never cycle an aquarium for clawed frogs (or axolotls).
In my opinion clawed frogs are very easy to keep, never had any problems with them, I have had Clawed frogs for about 5 years I think.
