    beautiful dogs.
Did you clip their ears, or were they like that when you adopted them? I'm totally against it; I have one pit also. Great dogs.

Well thank you for your expert opinion. An actual Veterinarian*did these ears unlike many irresponsible people who do them in the back yard. Now that is horrible. I have been showing this breed for 15 years. I produced these dogs. So no I didn't crop my dogs ears.

I wasn't implying you did them yourself. I know many reputable vets that provide this unnecessary surgery. Why have it done? I believe it's cruel and unnecessary.

I know you didn't imply it. You actually asked me if I did them. And you hounding me and giving me your opinion abt a totally legal procedure is even more pointless and ridiculous than me having a vet crop my dogs ears. You do realize that the dog is under anesthetic... Right? I do it because they look more natural believe that or not I could care less. But they do. W long ears they look like some mutant creation. Also I do it so people will never confuse me with someone like you who harasses people for cropping ears.

Ear cropping is not nearly as stupid as someone shooting a wolf. Or any predatory animal. These should be left alone. I can't believe people kill them. Sound like sarcasm but I'm being totally serious. Shoot something that there is tons of and that you can eat.

I'm confused, does Lindsey shoot wolves?

OK, let's not make this thread into a giant dispute.
No one mentioned anything about shooting or killing an animal, let's drop that.

Bad choice of words.... When I asked if you clipped their ears, I should have asked, "Did you take them to a vet to clip their ears?" I can tell by your photos they are professionally cropped. The only reasons for cropping a pit's ears is for appearance. Much like circumcising our sons, ear cropping has been proven as unnecessary and the healing process is painful. Also, for showing purposes many choose to crop the ears as many dogs that are not cropped do not qualify (maybe this is why you chose to do it?).
Either way, I think its wrong.
It is a personal preference. I believe, strong-heartedly, that it is cruel and I will never change my opinion on this issue.
    Sorry.
If people continue on the 'tradition' of cropping the pit's ears, unfortunately these dogs will continually be subject to such cruel practice (by vet or in the back yard).

    Bobby,
I've been thinking more on this since my last post and I wanted to apologize.
I didn't want to come off with you thinking that I thought you were a 'bad' pet owner. That's not at all what I wanted to say. So, I'm sorry!
What's done is done, and I'm sorry for butting into your business.
    Your dogs are very beautiful.

I wrote that post abt shooting wolves to prove that it's annoying and unwarranted to to randomly state your opinion when nobody asked your opinion. I NEVER even so much as suggested that anyone here shot wolves. Just as i never once asked anyone what they think of me cropping my dogs ears. And I'm all for dropping the whole subject. Especially since I was simply sharing photos of what I consider family member with the frog forum members. And I get harassed for having dogs w nicely cropped ears. I have since received an apology.
