I bought 4 toads 8 days ago. All of them seem to be doing fine except for one. It has gotten really bloated on it's sides. It seems to be fine other than that though. In and out of the water. Eating great every time I offer crickets. I am concerned about it's health though. I will be cleaning the tank in the morning just in case. I'm scared of Dropsy. I bought these for my kids, ages 3 and 4, so if one died, it would break thier hearts! Any help and thoughts would be appreciated. This is my first time owning this kind of pet..
Welcome to Frog Forum,
Bloated on both sides does not always mean Dropsy. Post. Pic of the bloated toad so we can see exactly what the bloat looks like.
I have some questions though.
How often do you change their water?
Do you use de-chlorinated water or spring water?
Also how does the bloat feel? Hard or soft?
I'm guessing FBT's? Can you tell us what kind of toads, what their home is like? Temp? Humidity? Substrate? Water?
