I've had my second blue dumpy since like January, and he's always been in the same tank as my other. When I bought him, he had a barely noticable bump on his back. I notice that it looks much larger now. It feels like it's part of his skeleton. Think it's just a birth defect and won't cause any problems? He moves around very well. He eats (he's not as chubby as my other dumpy, but he's the first after the crickets, and he'll eat a mealworm or two when I feed them). Mostly, that bump just looks bigger.
It looks like he may have damaged his bone when he was young and this is the result. I'd say he'll be alright.

I could see that happening.
When I bought him, the back of his head would stay a darker green, whether the rest of his body was green or blue or brown, so I named him Luigi (after Mario's brother). I found out afterward, he's also very clumsy.
Where did you get the BLUE? He is awesome looking.
Pet store I work at.
My other one, Baudrillard, is a blue, but he looks brown in the pics of my vivarium. At this very moment, that one is the nice jade green instead of brown, but he's more likely to be brown than Luigi is. And Luigi gets the nice blue a lot more. Luigi is also a lot more vocal, and has a much darker throat.
What kind of pet store? Specialist or general like Petco or Petsmart?
General. I'm the bad guy, right? lol
But...at least I have a manager who is fantastic at her job. She expects perfection and expects us to know what we're talking about. She herself has so many reptiles, including lots of frogs.
And...I just found out we're getting more blues in soon, and they will be on sale. Now that I have a nice new big tank for my dumpies.
No your not a bad guy my whites is from petco
I need a boost of willpower as I go into work today and tomorrow, so I don't buy more dumpies.
My two love making a mess in that new vivarium. So unappreciative.
