I adopted a cute frog from Petco, but no one remembered what kind of frog it happened to be. Was wondering if anyone could give me maybe some idea?![]()

One thread is enough. I'm not at all certain, but I'm taking a wild guess at cuban tree frog. Could be entirely wrong.
I'm about 95% sure that's a Cuban. One way to check is to rub the skin on top of it's head. If the skin moves relative to the underlying skull (like yours does), it's not a Cuban. If the skin is anchored rigidly to the skull (like in a toad or alligator), it's probably a Cuban (I can't think of many other Osteopilus species in common pet trade in the US).
It looks like a Cuban to me too. But......how can you purchase an animal and then forget what it is?? That doesn't sound like a very responsible owner to me........
I didn't forget. The people at the petstore forgot what the couple said it was. Im very responsible when it comes to my babies thank you.
I'm sorry! I misread what you had typed. The people at the pet store I can see that happening! I think I have to agree, though that you have yourself a Cuban Tree Frog. :3
What State do you live in? I think this could also be a Hyla Versicolor, Eastern Gray Treefrog. Does it have any yellow on the underparts of the back legs?
Already noted about the their skin. After Handling him I go scurb with some soap. Thanks though. ^^
I live in Louisiana. But I don't know if the people had bought him from some where or caught him outside. Not to sure about if it has yellow on the underparts of his legs or not.
