How many one inch pieces should I feed him at a time at his age? I am actually making a trip to Petsmart sometime this week so I think I'll try some out.
You can give him about 5 pieces and that should be fine. The pieces you cut off will still wiggle and squirm so they will attract his attension.

Let me know how he likes them.

Oh boo. I drove all the way to Petsmart and they didn't have any, or any worms for that matter. Guess I will try again tomorrow at Petco!

Nugget looks awesome I might try nightcrawlers cuz crickets are kinda getting on my nerves. Can't you get nightcrawlers from the sporting/fishing section of walmart? Are the quality of those any different?

    Thank you!

Yea I heard you can get them there, too. I was actually going to try tomorrow after work since there is a Walmart down the street from my office. I thought someone on this forum had mentioned they were good quality- I hope I am not remembering something wrong now. Maybe someone can post to the quality of the worms from Walmart?

So I got some nightcrawlers. They are way skinnier than I thought, will 5 pieces be enough? Also if anyone knows, can you get the dirt off if them by rinsing them?

Nugget seemed to be okay with the nightcrawlers, or he may have just been hungry. He ate three pieces. He had the fourth in his mouth at one point but spit it out. He still isn't too keen on tong feeding, so I'm not sure how well this is going to go. It took me almost an hour to just get him to eat the three pieces, while he usually eats dinner in 10-15 minutes.

Some take time to adjust to new foods. He will probably deside that he likes them next feeding. atleast he ate 3 pieces. Most won't even try new foods at first.

Nugget had worms for dinner tonight! I gave him pieces a bit larger than last time and he was able to grab them from the feeding tongs easier. It seems he likes to see his food move A LOT, and some of the pieces I had last time weren't wiggly enough. haha

That's good to hear. If they are a little longer than an inch it won't hurt. You could probably give him pieces almost 2 inches, but just not as many. I will warn you. The next time he poops it will have a powerful odor. Worms make their poop smeel bad Lol! atleast you'll know he did though.
