    Default Reusable substrate?

    ive always used eco earth and paper towels as substrate but recently switched over to sphagnum moss.is sphagnum moss reusable?after a while does bacteria and mold develop?

    sphagnum has natural anti bacterial and fungal properties, only thing I can think of to make a reusable substrate would be to add soringtails and or wood lice. they'll eat the leftovers and keep your tank clean if you have plants they feed off the leavings of the bugs and you have a mini ecosystem, most substrates this way last about 5 years... hope that helps....
