My crickets have been driving me nuts because they keep dragging their food into the paper towel tubes. The other day, I went to dump some into a dusting bag, and a half of a grape fell in with them. I have been putting their food on paper towel though because it's easy to scoop up and toss. I will have to try the egg crate, they'll have a harder time dragging food around then. Those suckers are strong!

We recently switched from 1 main cricket bin to having 4 bins. We alternate through the bins to help keep everything clean and the smell down. We currently use some small lids for the food bowl and water bowl (peanut butter jar lids).

Thanks for the information Lynn! Crickets are my least favorite feeder insect :/

I use to have bins for my crickets but they kept escaping, so i switched to the Lee's cricket pen.
I still want to try bins again sometime and i have a friend who uses garbage cans for his feeders
when he had his bearded dragon. Love using the paper towel tubes, so easy to get crix out
