Hey, I have an eastern tiger salamander. Ive had him for about 3 years now and hes always been in great health. I noticed today though that there was discoloring on the skin atop his head and back. His sides were their usual vibrant yellow and contrasting black, yet his top was a dusky yellow and a grey color and the skin looked stretched. His behavior his normal, his appetite ferocious, as always, and his will to dig and sit in his water bowl constant. I noticed his tail was sloughing though and could this all just be because I caught him in his awkward in between stage of sloughing? I have not witnessed him slough in person but I have found his skin once before in his water bowl so I know he has. I just want to make sure this is what is what it is, he is one of my favorite amphibians and I baby him so I want to be sure he is healthy. Thank you in advance for your replies
Never mind, he was indeed sloughing, hes fine now. I would delete this thread if i knew how
Happy to hear everything is good.
