Hi guys. Been reading the forum for a while now and finally came across something I couldn't find any info on! I apologise if it's already been asked and I missed it.

A while ago I started a vivarium and stuck some bromeliads in there. The issue is these bromeliads I bought seem to have little "barbs" or points on the leaves. They're only tiny, and I'm not even sure if they'll affect the frog.

I've seen a few photos online of people with frogs sitting inside these, so I assumed they must be harmless. However, when I bought my frog today (magnificent tree frog) the lady I bought it from told me to remove them, and advised I use plastic plants.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on this? I'd really love to keep these plants in here, and I'd hate to go to all this work just to stick plastic stuff in there. =/
