Its really hard to tell age at this size. May be about 3 to 4 weeks. He/she is way to young to be able to know gender. Males can be determined accurately 2 ways. First of course is if they call. Males may start calling at 4 1/2 to 5 months old. The second tell tale sign of a male are nuptual pads which appear on them when they reach sexual maturity at around 8 month to a year. Males usually on reach 3 to 3.5 inches SVL on average.

Thanks Grif! I figured it was a baby! I hope its a male for the size but hope its a female for the white throat! I wanted one with a bunch of red on it but when I seen this one at petsmart I snatched up on it! Especially for 15 bucks! He adds a great addition to my super mario brothers names lol!

Not as babies and Juviniles. They are pretty jumpy and can be active hunters at night. Once they get close to adulthood they start to become the lazy ambush predators you hear about. Some will still be really active even as adults. It just depends on the frog and its personality.
