My husband and I bought a dumpy tree frog about 5 months ago, and a second one about 3 months ago. The first one we could really tell he was doing well by his color, and he was getting fatter. The second one never really seemed to do as well as the first one and a couple of weeks ago came home to find him dead. We have a two year old daughter and it was always kind of a game to go check on the frogs, feed them, change water, etc. and to see if we could find their hiding spot for that day. I noticed for about a week before the first one died that he really wasn't climbing or trying to hide, he just stayed low on the ground and kinda out in the open. And he really wasn't eating. Then one day we came home to find he had died. His resting place was right by the water bowl. Well I've been worried about the first frog ever since and I'm always in there watching to make sure he's moving or eating or seeming normal, and he's really seemed fine since then. Well a couple of days ago he started seeming more of a darker green color, not as bright as usual, not as fat as usual, still eating bc everything I've fed him is gone, but I can tell he's not himself and did seem to be losing weight. And the same thing with the climbing, not doing it and staying out in the open and real low on the ground. Well I found him this morning and he has died as well...in the SAME EXACT SPOT as the other one. Is that a coincidence? Is there some kind of sickness that frogs get? Has anyone ever heard of that happening before?? Any idea whats causing this
