When you are feeding them, do you give them just crickets, or just worms, or whatever... or a variety in one meal?
I have worms and crickets on hand all the time for my pac and pyxie, but my pac will NOT eat the worms. My pyxie eats like a beast lol
I think it depends on what you want to feed your pyxie. If your pyxie will eat both worms & crickets then go for it!
Mine just get crazy with crickets, less with earthworms but I think it's maybe for their slow movements (= less appeal).
The same way he doesn't really care for (de)frozen mices while he went mad for the only live one I gave him 2 days ago.
That's why I came up saying that the appeal of various kind of food is related to their movements(the more, the best)...at least for my Elvis![]()
Nothing contains a more balanced nutritious food for ABFs than earthworms. I feed both Canadian night crawlers and crickets to my African Bullfrog, around a 50/50 ratio. Crickets are dusted with Ca every other meal and with a multi-vitamin once a week (not at same time). Be sure to keep crickets smaller that distance between frog eyes and cut earthworms to similar size if required. Can feed all your frog will eat within 10-15 min. Good luck!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
