Distilled water has no minerals in it. The frogs need the minerals that they absorb from regular water. If a pacman was only exposed to distilled water (in its soaking dish, substrate, and misting) then it would eventually die from lack of minerals. Minimal exposure should not cause any permanent health issues. Avoid spraying your frog directly and your little buddy should be fine.

I have well water, and I frequently spray my toads down with it, and they seem to enjoy it, then again, they are not Pacman frogs, but I don't think water can do any harm, that if if it's non chlorinated!

Distilled water and Reverse Osmosis water have no minerals unlike tap water/well water/and spring water. Distilled water and reverse osmosis water will rob your frog of vital vitamins and minerals as well as salts and electrolytes that they need to hydrate themselves and have normal bodily funtions. This is why you do not use distilled water and reverse osmosis water for a main water souce and only for misting. That's the reason they don't leave mineral spots when you mist the enclosure walls. They dont have any minerals what so ever.

You don't want to mist them very much anyway even with de-chlorinated water or spring and well water because some become annoyed and stressed. Also its a good idea to have your well water tested to be sure that it is safe for the frog. It can contain heavy metals that can kill your frog over a period of time. Better safe than sorry.

Spring water is just fine for everything as long as it actually came from a real spring. Has no chemicals and has mineral content that is needed.

hehe! oopsie, I sprayed my frog directly the first week I had him. I was spraying the walls and the first time i got a bit on him he didn't mind, he just sat. So I sprayed him again and he went absolutely nuts!! He was so confused and started running about in his tank, and waving his little hands. Then he sulked under the log for a week! I felt so bad for doing it at the time, but now I know the months have passed and he's fine and happy, I think it's quite funny looking back!! aww bless him, I'd never directly spray him again though. poor boy!

If I use tap water that has been treated then I can use that in his Bowls of water correct? then i use spring water for his sub straight? I just stared using distilled water for misting. Is that ok? I'm new to this hobby and want the best for my little pacman frog
