    Default Pac Man vs Pyxie!

no no no, i'm not going to put these frogs together to battle! =)

I'm currently a mom to a Pac Man frog. I think I am getting a Pyxie today! From all of the reading that I have done, it seems like their care is fairly similar. Anyone who has both, what do you find are the biggest differences?

(i'm noticing that LOTS of people get addicted to frogs!!!)

They ARE addicting! I currently have three species of frogs. Two of which are a PacMan and a Pyxie Frog (I actually have two Pyxies). I think the BIGGEST difference is personality. Pyxie frogs are more fun & active, IMO. Whereas, PacMans tend to just want to sit there most of the time.

Very colorful frog and love the first pic. Are both eyes that black with no pupils? Have not seen an African Bullfrog with eyes like that; think they have horizontal pupils. Could it be another species?
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

Pyxie's are definitely more active, and way hardier in my opinion. I always try to keep really consistent temps for my pac, because if I don't I notice his appetite slows quick. My pyxie has endured some pretty decent temperature drops with no effects at all though. The last month I had my pyxie at my friends house until I could bring her to my new apartment. I went there and her temps were 72. It must have been like that over a month too, because he was basically caring for her that whole month, but wasn't aware of the low temp. I was pretty upset to say the least, but she never stopped eating or even slowed down. I wouldn't try this at all, but if that was my Pac-Man, he's probably be dead. Also, pacs seems to like higher humidity all the time, where as Pyxies are a little more lenient with it I believe. I keep my pac at around 80% all the time. My pyxie is in an all water setup now, so I guess you can say her humidity is always high lol. But I don't think they're as picky. Good luck, and have fun!!

Their cares are pretty similar. Pyxies will have a greater appetite while you have more choices to choose when it comes to horned frogs.
