I been watching a lot of animal planet for years even before I got my Pacman ..but I haven come across any documentary on them..I would love to see how they actually survive in the wild.including their hunting time,their screw up for butting of more they can chew and their predator...
YouTube is only full of self film feeding time which is getting boring.,I want to see how they live naturally in the wild..
So is there any documentary you guys have across? Mind sharing a name if the documentary or better yet a link to download it?
Thx in advance. ^_^
I've never seen more than 2-3 minute segments about them... and believe me I've looked! If there is a documentary out there, I haven't come across it. I would very much love to see one though! Very little is known about these frogs in the wild. Maybe we should all write to NatGeo and suggest it!!
Aww..I can't believe there is no documentary on Pacman but as for tree frogs there are quite a few for gods knows what reason aside from some of it is native people using the poison from the poisonous tree frogs to hunt prey..
There are several documentaries that feature clips of the African bullfrog, such "Life" (the version narrated by David Attenborough, not Oprah Winfrey) and "Battle of the Animal Sexes". You can view the clips on YouTube. These frogs do deserve a show of their own![]()

Hey Terry (long time, no see)!
Yeah, I've searched as well. All I could find was a sort video of a Pacman Frog hunting in a swamp-ish area. The video quality wasn't very good, and I probably couldn't find the clip to save my life....
I don't know. Seems like there are plenty of clips for Pyxie frogs, budgett frogs, "chubby" frogs (forgot their proper name), and several other types of swamp/water type fat frogs. Seems like there should be several for Pacman Frogs....
I think the problem is that people find Pacman frogs and their hunting style to be boring. They are the Trap Door Spider of the frog world except I've seen several videos of actual Trap Door Spiders. Apparently according to the Manchester Zoo they were discovered by Charlse Darwin. I believe the species he discovered was the Ornate Horned Frog. I've seen a small clip of a C. Cornuta burrowed in the forest floor of the Yusuni and that's about it.
Gee, I guess this thread is about Pacman frogs...They deserve a show tooOops...
@MeTree, nice seeing you too!
hi guys I remember saw documentary film on tv about argentine horned frogs supposed to be ceratophrys ornata species several years ago, i still remember the clips (pacman hopping around the forest floor in argentine and eating mice, other frogs and each other) pretty much similar to the vid on youtube under "the most extreme-big mouths" title (way longer duration than the clip on the youtube). This documentary on tv actually introduced me to pacman frogs, really miss the film. If my memory serves me right on the details, the narrative voice was a woman and its BBC, I'm still looking for this vid and yet no result though, please update this thread if anyone finds any
If you put in 'Ceratophrys cranwelli' rather then just pacman frogs into youtube after painfully sifting through the feeding vids you mention there is one vid of a wild one calling https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnEcez9ZUG4 there is one thats in spanish i think but pretty low quailty its quite annoying to change and set subtitles but english subs(very poor english) can be set up that was on annimal planet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNsLnRiM1v4 its not long i wish there was more.
Thanks Sam for responding with the links, I came across this national geographic wild canada, world's deadliest - 7 deadly sins episode 1 i read the description there's horned frogs in it but i cant post the link here for some reason also can't view it on youtube ("vid not available in your country" display on screen) you guys may want to check it out
