    Default Whites tree frog

Hello, I am new to the forum. I posted in the introduction area but I will say here again...I am looking to get my mom a frog for her birthday next month and it appears that the one that would be the best fit would be a whites tree frog. I am wondering, do they do best in pairs, groups, or solitary?

With your whites tree frog how much did initial set up cost along with the frog(s)?

Where would I be able to purchase a whites tree frog that is not from a pet store? I've looked on different classifieds and they only have other types of frogs. I am willing to pay shipping, though I would prefer not too.

    Thanks!

White's Tree Frogs are not social animals; they do not need friends. Having more than one makes the vivarium more interesting, but is not necessary for their emotional health.
Find the care sheet here on White's, that will tell you what you need for the setup. Some have found great deals on Craigslist on enclosures, or sales online. And occasionally I've seen enclosures on auction via the Josh's Frogs Facebook page and they sold for pretty cheap.
I spent in total on my frog's set up about $350 (and counting). This included the enclosure, substrate, vines and sticks for climbing, live plants, water dish, lights, heater, etc.
I bought my frog from a pet store, but I'm sure someone here can recommend a good webstore for purchasing a White's.
Good luck! It's a lot of fun!

i have two whites and bought them at the same time as they were already together. im not sure where to get them from in the u.s or how much but im sure if u look on forums etc and get intouch with ppl someone will b able to recommend somewhere. mine cost £15 for two (but i got them very cheap).
it can get quite pricey so try get second hand stuff. i bought my first exo terra (30x30x45cm) for £30 and that included background, canopy, jungle vine, a plant with base, two hanging plants and a bowl. i didnt need to spend much to get it complete for the frogs. just heat mat, bulb and a few other things. iv just got a new exo terra (60x45x60) with canopy and background for £50. it really does pay to look around. i did just spend another £70 on bowls, plants, bulbs etc lol. things like bulbs are goin to cost quite a bit. plus then u have all the other regular expenses of food, substrate etc. but im sure u can find some good deals. ebay and forums are a really good place to look for stuff. even if u start with the tank then buy bits each week.
i hope ur mom likes her birthday present!!
