    Default New tank voor G.riobambae

I wanted a bigger tank voor our G.riobambae. Thought I'd post some pictures. Made the imitation rocks out of tempex (don't know if it's also the English word, but it's a foam) covered with grout and sand. The plate is also tempex. Foamed it all onto the tempex plate. Covered the foam with Elastopur and pressed some fern root in it. When everything's dry I can shake off the excessive fern root.

Gave the sides a black colour

    Glued it by using sealant

Now I can start with the bottom

Finished the tank except for some details I will fix in the future. Used those clay balls and cloth to create a little puddle. Used forest dirt for the terrestrial part and aquarium water for the puddle. An airpump blows air through the clay balls to provede some circulation. There are springtails in the dirt and gammarus and snails in the water to get rid of some of the feces and dead materials in the tank.

Couldn't help myself starting a new tank for my R.humboldti. It's a Exo-Terra terrarium (40x40x40cm) and I'm using the same method. Except now I'm using the sides as well.

Finished the tank, but the ground part is temporary. At this moment our hosii's are using it, but eventueally the Rhinella's will move in. The orange pot is also temporary, because I didn't know where else to put it. These plants will go in a larger tank.

    Put in all the plants:

    Fixing the terrestrial area:

Put in some water and the hosii's of course.

They're too big for this tank, but they don't need to be in it for a long time.
