I have always wanted to try live plants, just don't know were to start, should a local nursery have these plants? and also is it fine to mix both live a fake plants?

Lowes or Homedepot would have those plants just like Lindsey said make sure you wash all the dirt off the roots so there isn't any fertilizer left to hurt Monty

You can totally mix live and fake... and a local nursery should carry these plants. I've also found some bromeliads in grocery stores before for very little money. You really need to rinse, and rinse some more before planting. You can plant in coco fiber.

Yeah I have them growing into my fake background which is Great Stuff foam... Once they get growing they will keep growing. Just make sure the coco fiber doesn't stay super wet or they will rot.

And great if you got all that snow I'm in Michigan so we will prolly see it soon.
