Well, Pocket seems to be doing okay! Last night he had the repta-boost. today, I went to the petstore and got the royalcanine kitten food. I mixed that with the serving of repta-boost and he really liked it! Kept coming back for more when I woukd give him another dose. I still have him in the water. I change it daily. If he's not going to make it after his ordeal when do you think he still start showing symptoms?? I'm really trying not to get my hopes up. Good days are what I want to see and hope I continue to see them. I really am waiting for him to poop! I think that will be really telling. Anyways, thanks for listening to me ramble.

    Hi Lizzie,
I do not know how to take care of the type of frog you have, as I have never had one. I have red eyes.

I just wanted to reply and tell you that I think you have been terrific!!

I brought a little Red Eye -rescue- back from near death about a year ago. Luckily,I do have a herp vet about 15 min away. (She's great)
This little guy was in quarantine for 6 months. When I mention to people how much the vet bill was , they look at me like I am really crazy! It takes an unbelievable amount of patience. I wish I had pic of him when I got him. It was horrible! Last night he was hanging around one of my females- looking real normal . lol

Let us know when he poops. We can have a FF parade !!!!

If he is not going to make it you will see the symptoms appear out of nowhere, but there is always a chance that Pocket will pull through. Keep up the good work. He is doing well if he keeps eating and coming back for more. Grif really liked the canned food too. Keep him warm and fed well. Use the boosted with the canned food. It will help a lot.

    Keep us posted.

Umm, agreed! Seriously, I would be so stressed out. And you were even sick yourself! Way to go, Pocket is lucky to have you.

Thanks everyone! I'm still very sick myself. It's been a week now and I'm about to go insane with feeling so bad. I just can't get over this. Pocket ate tonight. His booster and kitten food. I also cleaned out his cage and layed down new paper towels. I have some fake leaves in there. I was able to get the temp back up. Lol he's sitting next to me in his cage, pouting in his water, I have his cage partially covered but I can see him. He just caught me looking at him and he turned around. He's got such an attitude. I think it's hilarious he doesn't like me. his suture looks good but im noticing it looks a little dark there. Pockets an albino so he's pretty translucent. He is out of his water dish now and hopping around his cage. I'm going to cover him in the leaves to help him feel secure since he can't burrow.

I uploaded some recent pics of pocket. I can't attach them since I'm on my tablet. The first pix of him is after his surgery. It's the only time I've seen him look humble. the second shows the prolapse. Third is just to show his pout in his bowl. Fourth shows his suture.

I looked on your profile but didn't see the pictures. Maybe try uploading again?

It sounds like he is doing better. If he is feeling well enough to give you attitude, then that is a good sign! They are very good at sulking. Once when I was cleaning Grif's tank, she got very grumpy at me. I always put her in a critter keeper while I clean her home. Usually she will look at me when I talk to her, but that day she kept turning away from me. So I rotated the carrier so that she was facing me. She glared at me for a second, then she stood up, very deliberately rotated 180 degrees and plopped her butt down. I hope Pocket continues to heal. Keep him warm and with as little stress as possible. He is in good hands!

I will try with the pics later. I see them. Might be a privacy thing. LOL about Grif. All of my frogs have the funniest personalities. I have a dumpy that will act like he is dying I skip a feeding day. Seriously, if he knew how he'd pretend to faint with his hand to his forehead. So dramatic. I had Pocket in a. Critter keeper during a cleaning... I looked in and deliberately flipped himself on his back. And, yes, they totally know how to glare.

POCKET POOPED!!! The vet called the other day to check on him and he was surprised he was still alive?! I told him he was but he still didn't poop. That worried him. Worried me too. Today, I noticed his little bum was swollen and he was lethargic kinda. I called the vet and They couldn't Get him in until Monday. I saw him kindnof straining. I didn't know What to do so I put him in his water. I came back 30 min later and I noticed he looked a lot better... turned on the light and there was poop! A lot! Of course, I'm a sicko and took a pic: ) it was almost an inch long and solid. There was also a little runny stool which is to be expected with the booster. I made him get of his dish so I could clean It. He's really not impressed with me today. He's proving it by saying you're not the boss of me and refusing to open his mouth to eat tonight. Oh well. I surrendered, he can win this battle. Oh, and his butt looks great! No redness and suture looks Good. I cxled his appt Monday. He will go in two weeks to have his suture removed. I think he might make it!!

I am so glad to hear that! It is a very good sign that his bowel movements are returning to normal. Don't give up on him, Pocket may pull through this just fine! Keep him warm and his enclosure clean. I would cautiously say that it may be a good sign that he is putting up more resistence to the forcefeeding. When I had to forcefeed Grif, at first she was so weak that she put up no resistence. As she started to gain her strength back, she put up more resistence. One night, not long before she started eating on her own, she actually swatted the card out of my hand with her foot. The she hopped on top of the card and sat on it so I couldn't get it and she glarred at me! There are no gaurnetees, but I really hope Pocket pulls through! Go Pocket!!

Well, pocket has pooped again! Its been a week and 3 days and he's had two good bm's. I think I'm going to put the substrate back in. His suture area looks really good. Do you all think it's a good idea?

I glad Pocket is doing so much better, but I would wait for his suture to be taken out before putting him back on coco fiber. Need to be sure he doesn't get and infection.

Thanks for asking!! :-) Pocket's doing good. He's actually growing quite a bit. He's getting his stitches out on Thursday. I just fed him and he's pouting in his bowl right now. He's mad because I haven't given him his substrate back. I need to keep him clean, though. He's such a joy! (Total sarcasm)

Awesome, awesome, and awesome. I am so glad! I know I hadn't posted on this thread much but I followed your updates and kept Pocket in my well wishes. Glad to hear he is recovering, likely because of your wonderful frog-mommying! And Nugget is just like that too, all pouty and a sour-puss. If I look at him too long he glares back and then turns so I am facing his butt. He does it because he loves me.

LOL! So, if he has a bad, crabby disposition. . . And, is generally unpleasant that means he loves me?? Wow, he loves me a lot! We've actually got a running joke around here... if anything happens to me unexpectedly - look at the frog he probably has bloodstains on his hands! LOL

I'm so happy that Pocket is well and recovering. He will really love you when you give him his substrate back after his stitch is out .
