It might not hurt to see if you can get a fecal exam done on this frog....most vets will do it fairly cheap and that will determine if you even need to use any parasite meds or not.

yeah I'll probably end up doing that when I have some extra money. I just took a look at the frog and he's currently on the hunt, so i might just wait and watch his behavior a couple of days to see if he goes back to his usual routine. He might have just been having an off day and I over reacted. Little things like that can be make or break with herps, so I always make note of unusual behaviors. I am still curious on the paste panacur though, I would very much appreciate some input from someone who has tried it before. And thank you so much David for being prompt and honest with your replies, this has been a very good first experience with frog forum thanks to you.

No problem, its awesome that you are an attentive and observant keeper. Its clear the well being of your critters are a top priority, which is always a plus.

I have no idea how to measure out a paste form to get a correct measurement to a powder form.
I don't think a paste form would break down in water the same way a powdered form would.

I would see if the vet will let you stop by to pick up what you need or you can order online but getting it quickly will be expensive.

I believe you need to ask Don Lisk. I've never heard of anyone using a paste for frogs. I don't think its a good ideas as it may not be the same as the powder and contain some other additives. Like David said "better safe than sorry".
