    Thank you Thad and Don, that's helpful. Don, this may be a silly question, but if you use LECA and have the main substrate on top, how would you siphon off water? Do you have to have a drainage pool like Thad does?

    You can create an area with large stones to siphon from as I did with the viv I added to my albums today, or I just keep an area where I can lift the substrate slightly with some overlapping screen material and stick the hose in there. I usually do this in a corner and cover it with a large accent item.
