    Default Bye-bye Sticky.

Nevermind about getting him to eat. Mr. Stickyfeet is gone. I misted him just moments ago and he didn't even flinch.Curious, I I picked him up. He's exceptionally light and feels like jello. His sides aren't moving, his throat isn't moving. I put him in a na open tank and he's not trying to escape. He's gone.
I have a frog. She's fat and green. Her name is Gertrude, because she is fat and green.

Thanks. Somehow I knew it was coming. Ever since he acted weird at Christmastime. He was really, really old. :\ He traveled halfway across the country.

Now, this may be a tad morbid...but..what do I do with him? I'm thinking he was just a tad sick. And throwing him in the garbage just...doesn't feel...right. Neither does flushing him down the toilet.

Sorry for your loss... Reading threads like this makes me appreciate my little pals that much more. No garbage or toilet disposal please. When I was a kid we buried our lost critters in the back yard. I think Sticky deserves the same

I would, but the ground is snow covered and frozen. Any other ideas?

Yeah...:| Anything other than burial seems undiginified. Maybe i'll just let my parents do the dirty work.

geez that sucks I was gonna maybe suggest freezing him until spring/summer time, then burial? Idk how much of an option that might be.

I don't know anything about geography, its pretty appaulling but if you're near any bodies of water (ocean, lake, whatever), you could put him in a weighted degradable container, in a hole in the ice if its iced over? Really sorry for your loss at least he had a nice long life being loved and looked after by you.

Yeah, there's lots of ponds around here but I';m not an ice fisher, so I've nothing to cut a hole in the ice with.

We have food in our freezers, that won't fly. I'll probably just give him to my step dad and ask no questions. Shame he couldn't have waited three months to die. :|

And this empty tank is going to drive me crazy. At least I still have my puppy...

Well, thanks. I sure hope he did. :\

I think I'm going to curl up with my puppy and some ice cream and just stare at the TV for a while. *sigh*

I'm really sorry Becky. He passed loved and happy. You cared for him deeply and he won't be forgotten. it is always so hard when loved ones are lost whether they are people or animals. They are our family and we love them as much as anyone we know. My heart sank when I saw this thread before I even opened it. He is in a better place now.

    Once again I'm very sorry.

I'm so sorry for your loss Becky. You took excellent care of him. I know how much it hurts to lose a loved frog. I plan to bury my frog in the spring once the ground thaws and he is in a jewelry box in the freezer for the time being. If your parents do not want you to keep him in the freezer, perhaps you can put him in a plastic tupperware outside against the house in a corner (with a brick on top to keep it in place) or in a garage. It is cold enough outside that he may stay frozen out there and that way you can still bury him in the spring.

So sorry to hear about Sticky. Be comforted in knowing that you gave Sticky and amazing life in your hands since most amphibians don't survive very long in the wild. My neighbor and I both laugh when we see pictures of Sticky since we both have Cope's Greys and hope that ours live as long as he did.
