Can I put in a plea here - please do not give out advice like this! Baytril can come in different strengths and preparations, and the above instructions refer to only one of those without specifying which one! This could be FATALLY dangerous.

If drug doses are given in this way, rather than as mg/kg, then the strength at least (and preferably specific preparation) MUST be specified. Even if there is only one strength available where you are, this may not be the case where the person posting is from.

You're overreacting.

I think Don knows what he's doing, and you generally can't get Baytril without seeing a vet anyway, and any vet would know to weigh the animal to find dosage first.

Although someone trying to spoon-feed a frog baytril in flavored syrup does sound amusing....

Bruce, thank you for your concern. The frog is still alive this morning so I think we are all set with this dosing. Also, if my bird breeder friend, whom I got the Baytril from, thought I might be over-dosing the little guy, she would have let me know. She is not a herp vet but has treated iguanas & snakes in the past (she's done it all, I swear!).

I'm going to do the glass dessert bowl idea for feeding crickets here on out. What a wonderful idea! Thank you!
