Welcome to Frog Forum! Your friend's loss is you gain; but I would never leave my pets for a wife, he, he, he. Good luck with them and take a look at the care articles for both frogs if you have not done so already.
Hello everyone. Quite an impressive forum here.My name's Omar and I just recently acquired a RETF and I've had a Pacman for a few months now, also own a Mississippi map turtle. Anyway the RETF is such an awesome little pal and I'm sure I will have a blast owning him/her. I got it from a friend of mine that needed to get rid of his pets in order to move into a house with his wife (those were the conditions proposed to him.) Anyway, the first concern I have is it's living arrangements. It was given to me in a 20 gal long aquarium so I am definately on the search for a decently priced "tall" set up to be able to transfer his home into it. One question I have though, I've had "it" for about 4 days so far, and have yet to hear a peep out of it. I read that females remain quite and the males are the noisy once. Previous owner said it was a male, but I have yet to believe that. Is there anything else that distinguishes its sex? That's the only question I have for now. Everything else has been pretty easy to research on the internet. Thanks.

Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
Welcome to the forum.there are plenty of experianced keepers here so feel free to ask questions. They will be happy to help.
Thank you for the welcomes. Here's a photo I took of Burn after getting home with him/her the first night. I own a decent Nikon DSLR camera so I will be shooting more with the camera soon. I got a few of him/her sleeping this morningI will post those up later tonight when I get home. I'll also post pictures of "Pakku" my Pacman frog.

Hello and welcome!
When it comes to sexing, size, or rather body shape is your best bet (unless you actually see the nuptial pads or hear him call). Females gets more plumb than makes, which always stay slender.
That you have not heard him call does not mean anything yet. They are not the most frequent callers (especially when only one ia present). But if it takes weeks or months without a call, you might have a female.
Thanks Martin. I'll study "it" a bit more lol. I just don't want to be a pest to him/her. I'll find out in due time.
G'day and welcome to the forum mate![]()
