Default Male Juvenile Pixie: pay for shipping only. Needs good home.

    Hello fellow Amphibifans!

Johann Sebastian Bullfrog needs to find a new loving, capable and EXPERIENCED owner as I'm about to leave on an LDS mission for two years and consequently will be unable to care for him. And yes, Sebastian is a certifiable male, therefore you're guaranteed a good 7-10 in. monster when this fellow grows up. He is little over 6 months at the moment, and about 4.5 inches SVL. He is hand trained to eat in a seperate container to avoid the mess, so in other words he's quite tame. Completely healthy. Loves nightcrawlers. I have yet to feed him mice, so he may need a little training in that area.

I'll try to post some pictures as soon as possible. I have some taken, but I'm technically challenged when it comes to getting them onto the computer and then the internet in the correct size. But I guarantee Sebastian's a male, as his forelegs are surrounded by orange and his belly is yellow. Also, he has quite the set of jaws, and I'm pretty sure that the white ventrical line is receding fairly fast. Note: JSB isn't really living up to the musical genius that inspired his name, as I've never heard him croak. Maybe you guys can get him 'in the mood' a little better than me. Or perhaps it's just a "Does a tree falling down in the forest make any sound if nobody's around to hear it?" kind of thing.

Anyway, the price is whatever the shipping amounts to.

And while we're on the subject, I have no experience either buying or selling an animal online, thus ANY advice you folks have on the matter will be greatly appreciated. I have browsed reptiphibian web stores, and on average the shipping they charged was between 30$ and 45$ for something like this. But, when I called the local UPS store, they said that the shipping was anywhere between 75$ and 95$! Why the discrepancy! Plus, the UPS guy seemed a little weirded out with the idea of shipping a cold blooded creature in the winter across the country, and frankly so am I. Encouragement and advice would be greatly appreciated, as so far the local scene isn't picking up on him via classifieds. I had one girl almost buy him but she just backed out on me. Time is of the essence as I'm leaving in about a month and there is still so much to do and buy, so knowing my dear pixie is in good hands will go far in promoting my peace of mind.

Don't miss out on this most excellent deal and an even more excellent frog!

Message me to get things going.

    Thanks Everybody!

This is so strange. I only two days ago decided I wanted to search for one of these type of frogs to add to my collection. I currently have a Dwarf Pixie, but would love the big guy. Unfortunately, I don't know the procedure of shipping live animals either. I live in claremont, NH and am super interested if you can figure out safe shipping for him to 03743. He'd have a great home with me...I promise.

He can come live with me in Iowa! Where are you? I have. quite a few frogs, plenty of night crawlers and tons of love for them all! I would prefer to wait unroll the weather is a bit better for his safety though. I'd prefer to adopt this guy in need rather than purchase.it has nothing to do with cost....just giving him a home. Get fropping to my gs shipped fedex to my house pretty often and have great luck. Why don't you contact them about shipping to my postal code (52146). Then if you like email me at harpersferryiowa@gmail.com. I believe we can get him here with no problem. Even if you send him elsewhere...I would suggest fedex! They have been great to me and my frogs.....beth

    Wonderful! Excellent! etc.!

I can feel the excitement, which makes me feel good about sending him away.

As to where I live, I'm located in Cache Valley Utah. I'm in the city of smithfield, area code 84335.

    Currently in a cold spell.

Anyhow, what do you guys think of this idea: I will wait about a week, in which time I will thoroughly research my shipping options (thanks for the suggestions!). Once I've found the right avenue, I will put all your names in a hat, shake it up a draw a lucky winner. That's the only way I see of doing it, since technically this isn't a sale and all of you sound great. Once I pick someone, I'll e-mail you with an estimate as to the shipping cost. If you accept, then I'll pay for the shipping. Once he arrives, then you can pay me back as soon as possible.

Sound good? Let me know. Also, in your opinion, which method of payment would be best: paypal, or sending a check or cash through the good ol' postal service? And can you upload pictures that were taken on a cell phone, and if so, how.

    Thanks, and good luck!

I like the hat idea. Lots of good owners on here. Paypal is probably the best option, for both parties involved.

Yes, your hat idea is a good one. I also agree with Jimifrog, Paypal is the best way to go for payment.

Bitter sweet news, people. My brother has come forward and offered to take care of Sebastian. He has what it takes, and of course, he's family. In other words I'm going to have to close down this forum. I'm sorry not because my problem has been solved (quite the opposite, in fact!) but because I got you all excited and I hate to dash your hopes. But I wish you the best of luck in your pixie hunt as they are wonderful frogs. Also, this eliminates the uneasiness I felt in shipping him. Sorry if I upset anyone, and thanks for your enthusiasm. It helps to know that I have this resource to turn to in the future if the situation demands!
