I would not recommend mixing the two species. Kassina maculata secretes a potent toxin as a defensive response. I am not aware if this toxin is harmful to other frogs, but it can cause serious and violent symptoms if mammals try to eat or roughly handle them. One of the peptides secreted by this species is hylambatin which lowers blood pressure and increases heart rate. This species is also known as Hylambates (maculatus) maculata.
