So, if youve been reading my threads you know i upgraded tanks. I when from a simple 5 gallon to a 20 gallon long. I have two firebelly toads that have been hanging out in the five gallon. I figured the new 20 gallon was too big for two frogs grab a third. so i went to the pet store and i could only see one frog left in the tank at petco. I picked him up. Put him in the new set up also put a plant and half of log hallowed out shelter. hes been living in there for about a week now. not sure who it was but apperently my wife heard them barking and when she looked in one was mounting the other. Not sure who it was because she cant identify them only i can. anyways, last night i go to feed the three frogs and i drop in several crickets. urlacher was in the corner minding his own business but my other older frog was in the oppisite side of the tank, the new frog was in the same corner they both went to go after the same cricket. the new frog got real aggresive aND ATTACKED the other frog nipping at him and swimming toward him continuing to nip. the frog being nipped whent from a floating position to on his back doing the back stroke to get the hell outa dodge! eventually the new aggresive frog stopped persuit and went back to preying on the cricket....
how long did you quarantine the new addition first?
remove the, hopefully parasite free, aggressive toad altogether before you end up with this one only.
can we see any pics of the "established" setup yet?
