No they cannot. American Toads are toxin and the water source wouldn't be able to be shared with another animal; not to mention the other various bacteria or parasites the toad "might" have. I learned the hard way myself by mixing two toad species together and it ended up with a good loss of amphibian life.

The same goes with putting them with other animals. Don't do it.

yea, i guess i kinda knew the answer already, but was hoping someone would know of some other creature that it could co-exist with.....oh well, they are quite the charmers by themselves and i'm lucky to have them as it is
