meal worm colony

I use cocoa fiber in my habitats and during a substrate change, I noticed that I have a mealworm colony. I know usually you would use oats and such as worm bedding but what if I just leave it as is in the cocoa fiber? I dump water in the corner for moisture and cereal or cat food and a carrot in the other end. I dont have to worry about the bedding getting moldy.Is there a down side to that? I dont know that I could separate the very small worms from the fiber anyway.

Im not at all familiar with cocoa fiber as I never seen it or used it. Meals worms are amazing with survival and Ive found them as beetles in my terrariums living in the walls and they did a lot of damage. Im not sure about keeping them in the frog home, My concern is the mess with mould and bacteria. Meal worms don't do well in the slightest bit of moisture and it may course problems. This is Just my views so hopefully someone else may know more .

there are no frogs in the colony. just the soil and worms . a uth. some food and water.they had started up in my terrarium and did well on the water i used for watering the plants and the carrots i had left in for stray crix.

Oh sorry, I miss understood. I thought they were in a frog enclosure. In that case i cant see any problems with it
