Good idea in theory, but frogs (and toads) need adequate ventilation. I don't think covering more than half of the tank lid is wise.

I have a frog. She's fat and green. Her name is Gertrude, because she is fat and green.
Oh I completely agree with you. I guess I should have been more clear with that. I was only considering covering no more than half the tank with it. I know they need the ventilation and would never cut that off entirely from them. Would this work while I am gone for 2 days? When I come back they will receive a good misting as well. They spend most of the time in the water anyways, so I am not worried about them drying out or anything like that.
ive had firebelly toads my whole life. my first pet as a kid. I currently have the two right now. When i first got Urlacher about 6 months ago i used to mist him all the time. but he didnt seem like he liked it. than bout three months ago i got urlachers wife (havent named her yet kinda just stuck with urlachers wife) i dont mist them at all. and they live happily together. I change their water about every day or every other. depending on how dirty it is. They live fine. i liv in ct and right now its winter. my house stays pretty warm though. back in October we had bad snow storm and lost power for about three to four days. room temp dropped to about 60 degrees. all the pet supplies shops were closed for about a week! literally. so they didnt even get to eat. if your only leaving your frogs for 2 days i wouldnt worry about. spray before you leave and just spray when you get home.
