    Default need some advice

so next month the fiance and I are taking off for the weekend. At the moment for my 2 FBTs, I use a spray bottle to mist the tank to keep the humidity up. Now we will be leaving a Saturday morning, which I will mist extra in the tank right before leaving, and we will be coming back Sunday night. By this time I know the humidity will drop. My question is, if it is low that long will it affect them in anyway? Is there anything that I can do to help maintain a high humidity while I am gone for this time? I don't think it would danger them in anyway, but I just wanted to make sure just in case. Wanting to play it safe for them

How much water is available for them to get into if needed?

They will usually get in the water if the humidity is to low so I would think they should be fine but someone else might have a suggestion for keeping some humidity up while away.

It is a 20 gallon tank(60 land and 40 water). They spend most of time in the water anyways, even with the humidity being up.

I am also planning on getting a mist king system soon. So I might have it by the time that I go away and this will fix the issue for me being away. I was also thinkning that the last time that I mist them before I go away, I might cover up most of the screen with plastic wrap to help maintain the humidity while I am away. Suggestions? Ideas?

Good idea in theory, but frogs (and toads) need adequate ventilation. I don't think covering more than half of the tank lid is wise.
I have a frog. She's fat and green. Her name is Gertrude, because she is fat and green.

Oh I completely agree with you. I guess I should have been more clear with that. I was only considering covering no more than half the tank with it. I know they need the ventilation and would never cut that off entirely from them. Would this work while I am gone for 2 days? When I come back they will receive a good misting as well. They spend most of the time in the water anyways, so I am not worried about them drying out or anything like that.

ive had firebelly toads my whole life. my first pet as a kid. I currently have the two right now. When i first got Urlacher about 6 months ago i used to mist him all the time. but he didnt seem like he liked it. than bout three months ago i got urlachers wife (havent named her yet kinda just stuck with urlachers wife) i dont mist them at all. and they live happily together. I change their water about every day or every other. depending on how dirty it is. They live fine. i liv in ct and right now its winter. my house stays pretty warm though. back in October we had bad snow storm and lost power for about three to four days. room temp dropped to about 60 degrees. all the pet supplies shops were closed for about a week! literally. so they didnt even get to eat. if your only leaving your frogs for 2 days i wouldnt worry about. spray before you leave and just spray when you get home.
