    Default White's Parasite Name

I have noticed parasites in my White's stool the past few months. I had seen the same type of "worms" in the bedding for quite some time prior to that (I change out all the bedding every other week and spot clean daily). I had the stool tested and the results showed that the parasite was that of the food, not of the frog. Okay... Possible, but I find it hard to believe because I doubt that all the crickets were from the same batch and that all crickets had the same parasite. Plus, my other frog would have also had the parasites. My question is what is the name of the parasite that White's get? Is there any treatment for parasites other than injection?

    Panacur C: Wormer for Dogs - 1800PetMeds

I don't know if the above link came through, but the product is called panacur.
I would research this product on this forum... I have read somewhere here that it can be used to treat worms in frogs, but have no idea how much or how to use it.
    I am not a Vet!!!
And, I don't know the name of the parasite.
Sorry, can't really help you out, except to suggest that maybe this product would possibly help..

    Parasites in intestines, “Worms”
Treat with FENBENDAZOLE (PANACUR) 25mg/kg of bodyweight. Dissolve and drop on frogs’ back once a day for at least 10 days. Or dust the food items for 3 consecutive days.

That's very helpful! Thank you both. I have been very iffy ever since my vet said it had to be an injection. Sounds painful and incredibly stressful. This is much better!

Thanks Don! I read in the forum that some people use panacur routinely (like once per month) to prevent worms. Is this true? And what are your thoughts on that?

Don't put it in their soaking dish as some people will do. If it kills all the worms at once they will begin to rot inside the frog and it may die from Septic shock. I heard that thedusting the food and placing the drop on the frogs back like Don suggested it best.
