Well I burried him... And the tears come back... :'(
I'm not sure what to suggest. There are so many out there. You could check out the different areas of the forum. Look at some of the frogs that everyone else has. Read about their care needs and see if you can accurately meeet that particular frogs needs. Could be the best way to go. It also gives you time. Which you do need before getting another. This way it may help you cope. It is not possible to replace him. Like us their personalities are different and no 2 act the same. I feel this may be the best way for you to deside.![]()
If you were to get another frog, what kind would you get?

Ian, I am so sorry for you loss. I know how much it hurts to lose a beloved frog. You sound like me, beating yourself up over what you should have done differently, but you can't do that. You did everything you knew how to do and I'm sure you gave him a great life. You learn from the experience and when the time comes for the next pet, you can give them that much and more. Of course it is up to you, but I would wait a little bit before you get another frog. Give yourself time to be sad, don't rush it. When you are ready I think another White's would be great or (lizard wise) there are great tropical lizards. Like Day Gecko's, Crested Gecko's, African Fat-Tailed Geckos and plenty other options. I like the name Rupert. :0)
Thanks....
I'm not sure what kind-if any- that I might get.... I would need help deciding.
I am going to wait, and you guys are really helping. Thank you :')
And @beckym: I had him for about five months- long enough to get sooooo attached, but not long enough to finish what I wanted to do with him. I actually believed he would be there when I go to college. I still have a list of things I was going to buy for him. He was going to get a cage upgrade I've been planning for a while. I was going to get him a cage mate. I never got to hear him croak.... I just feel so sad and devastated.
I still remember when I got him. My first time handling him. First time seeing him eat. Letting him climb on a metal chair. Begging my mom to take me to petco just to look for stuff for him. His whole life is right there. I remember everything I bought for him. I was so excited when those first plants and bonsai and coco fiber came in the mail....
Memories.....
Let the memories flow out....it helps with the healing process!
It's a good thing that your waiting on getting another pet....you don't want to rush into something your not ready for.

Oh sweet, sweet Ian... My heart is so heart broken for you! I wish I could give you a big hug!
I feel like I've really gotten to know you and Kirby these last few weeks. You were such a loving and nurturing care-giver to Kirby.
You are such an amazing young man, and I can only hope that my son can be as thoughtful as you are at such a young age. I had no idea you were only 14! I'm so impressed with your heart and your want/need for information! You were always striving to provide the best for Kirby.
As you know, my 4 year old son and I too lost a frog recently. We're still so sad and I keep going back in my mind about what I should have done differently... But we can only move forward.
And when we buried dear Sloppy, it was very, very hard.
Good luck with your next frog or lizard or whatever you decide to get next...
You are in my thoughts this evening.
xoxo
Thank you so much for the kind words. It makers me feel a lot betterso I guess you know how I feel...
Ya I'm getting better. Thank you everyone....
So I am not ready for a new pet yet. I still really miss kirby :'(. But I have decided I might get another frog. Not lizard. We already have a liz...
So I was just curious, and I looked up some frogs, and my choices I think are WTF, chubby frog, or green and golden bell frog...
Any comment?
