Hi,
I have this "critter cage" of which was my very first enclosure for frogs. (36 x18" wide x 16" deep)
Zilla Critter Cages - Reptile - Sale - PetSmart
It is meant to be used horizontally. It's glass. I would have to convert it to a vertical for amazons. Therefore it would be 36" high 18" wide and 16 " deep.
The problem is: the screen top it came with slides on and clips into place( when placed on a table horizontally.
I am unable to purchase a conversion front for it because it has an unusual rim edge!(to accommodate the sliding screen )
I looked into a custom job for a new front- but it would cost more than buying a new 36" high exo terra!!!
If I continue to use the screen lid it came with , it would mean that every time I opened it----I would be exposing the entire font of the tank vertically when sliding the front open !!!
This would also mean ( when turned vertically ) the top would be glass ??
I can water proof the bottom/front and add plexi to the front to close some of the screening. That's not a problem.
Help ! - opinions needed
It would be great for other species! The bottom is divided ! I wish I new a FF member that lived near by.
I might be tempted to just give it away ! I miss George (BG) !!!
Lynn

I've seen these tanks and have a thought that may work..
Where normal conversion kits get siliconed onto the front side of the rim, could you, instead, silicone a piece of glass behind the rim?
This way, the rim could remain as is allowing for the lid to slide freely, but you still create a glass barrier at the bottom of the tank to keep all your substrate in..
Just a thought.

I made my own conversion kits and they work great.....will get you directions if ya wish
